About the Event
Join us for a musical tribute to Dante Alighieri. Celebrate the 760th anniversary of the birth of Italy’s greatest poet with a captivating piano performance by Emilio De Mercato, during the Vancouver stop of his 2025 piano tour, ahead of his Carnegie Hall debut in New York.
Experience the music of renowned European composers—Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, and Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky—with a selection of their works inspired by literary and artistic sources, including Dante’s Divine Comedy.

About the Pianist

He holds Master’s Degrees in Piano and Composition from the Conservatory of Music “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and a Konzertdiplom from the Hochschule für Musik in Bern. In 2015, he founded the Alberta Symphony Orchestra, leading major productions such as Symphony of Hope and Tribute to Glenn Gould in collaboration with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. A faculty member at Mount Royal University Conservatory, he will embark on a Canadian tour in 2025, culminating in his Carnegie Hall debut in May. More at www.emiliodemercato.com.
